#3:\u00a0 I can\u2019t refer you, if I can\u2019t reach you.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the thing about me.\u00a0 I\u2019m one of those people who keeps track of people and business needs and services.\u00a0 I tell the world about people and businesses that I value, use, and trust to be a match for current or future\u00a0needs.\u00a0 People often call me and say,\u00a0 “I recall you\u00a0told me about … can I have the details again.”<\/p>\n

I enjoy being of service, it is part of who I am.\u00a0 I am passionate about connecting people who could do business together — and — I go to great lengths to do so.<\/p>\n

When a recruiter contacts me or I discover an opportunity — I act!<\/p>\n

The bottom line is without your current contact information I can’t make the connection<\/strong>.\u00a0 It’s a total downer.\u00a0 You created an obstacle.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You are a skilled, talented person who would be great for this opportunity, yet you will miss out on this referral because I can\u2019t reach you.<\/p>\n

Additionally, I can\u2019t rely on you to get back to me.\u00a0 This experience stands to impact future opportunities as well.\u00a0 Your online information is not current, so it is not just me who can\u2019t reach you<\/strong>.\u00a0 If I refer you and someone else can’t reach you, it reflects on me.\u00a0 What would you do?<\/p>\n

Some things will slip through the cracks, it happens to us all every now and then, that is life. Yet,\u00a0your blind spots not only show how you manage your career, they demonstrate how you will manage the affairs of an employe<\/strong>r.<\/p>\n

I truly like you and hope all is going well for you.\u00a0 Maybe you will be among the few who never need to seek another job.\u00a0 Maybe you forgot how long it takes to put things in place to generate interest or opportunities within your network.<\/p>\n
